Jerry Careaga and Stephanie Gladhart have been songwriting together for 20 years and recently formed Tornado Sky to begin releasing their songs. Both are L.A. natives who began songwriting and performing early in life. Both write music and lyrics.
Stephanie's spent her childhood in the San Gabriel valley of Southern California. She wrote and performed her songs at school functions beginning in the 5th gradeat the behest of her grandmother who proclaimed she was a genius. In the mid 90's she returned to college at the University of California Santa Barbara studying screenwriting, poetry and short story writing, finishing with a BA in English Literature.
Jerry Careaga, the son of an Air Force career man, spent his formative years traveling the US and as a teen pitching his original songs to bands who played at the base service clubs. He finished high school at the International School of Bangkok Thailand where he formed his first band. After high school graduation he did a stint in the Air Force forming bands and playing small clubs around where he was stationed in Biloxi Mississippi
When his Air Force duty was done Jerry played small clubs in Tucson Arizona eventually heading to L.A with a new batch of songs he had written to make it as a songwriter.
After a year apprenticing as a staff writer for a small music publisher he was signed as an artist to Mercury Records and garnered a deal to write for Warner Music. Jerry went on to record for Elektra Records, Columbia Records and finally Asylum Records. He continued his songwriting with Warner/Chappel Music, Famous Music and Sony/Atv Music. His songwriting career took off when other artists began recording his songs, winning two BMI awards for most performed songs which became international hits.
