Jerry Careaga and Stephanie Gladhart have been songwriting together for 20 yearsand recently formed Tornado Sky to begin releasing their songs. Both are L.A. nativeswho began songwriting and performing early in life. Both write music and lyrics.
Stephanie's spent her childhood in the San Gabriel valley of Southern California.She wrote and performed her songs at school functions beginning in the 5th gradeat the behest of her grandmother who proclaimed she was a genius. In the mid 90'sshe returned to college at the University of California Santa Barbara studyingscreenwriting, poetry and short story writing, finishing with a BA in English Literature.

Jerry Careaga, the son of an Air Force career man, spent his formative years travelingthe US and as a teen pitching his original songs to bands who played at the baseservice clubs hoping they would play them. And surprisingly some did. He finishedhigh school at the International School of Bangkok Thailand where he formed his first band. After high school graduation and back in the states he did a stint in theAir Force himself forming bands and playing small clubs around where he was stationed in Biloxi Mississippi

When his Air Force duty was done Jerry played small clubs in Tucson Arizona withhis band while working a day gig as an electronics specialest testing guided missiles for a defense contractor. That experience was short lived and after a few monthshe took a new batch of songs he had written and moved to Los Angeles Californiato make it as a songwriter.

After a year apprenticing as a staff writer for a small music publisher he was signedas an artist to Mercury Records and garnered a deal to write for Warner Music.Not achieving the success he wanted he moved on to record for Elektra Records,Columbia Records and finally Asylum Records. His artist career never blossomedbut he did make it as a songwriter when other artists began recording his songsHe has won two BMI awards for songwriting and his songs became international hits.
